Thank You Cross Island Farms For Supporting Our
Downybrook Pavilion Project!
Our Pavilion Project to expand activities at Downybrook Nature Reserve in Brownville received generous support from Cross Island Farms!
Dani Baker, Co-Owner of the gourmet organic farm on Wellesley Island made a Fall Gift of $7500 to the pavilion project at the reserve. Visits to the beautiful 180-acre property are increasing and the pavilion near the west side parking area will provide a protected area for gatherings and learning events all-year round!
Baker believes OBI’s role as an
all-volunteer land trust is key to local conservation efforts and added:
“I love all-volunteer groups
because all of the money
goes to the mission!”
Cross Island Farms grows a variety of gourmet organic vegetables and berries, a large assortment of herbs, beef, pork and goat and chicken eggs. Perhaps the most unique feature is the Enchanted Edible Forest, with an astounding array of 350-plus edible plants! Cross Island Farms sells from their farmstand inside their front porch on Wellesley Island and to high-end restaurants throughout the region!
